Rajasthan Royals set an unwanted IPL milestone during their home clash against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur, as they conceded 229/4 for the seventh time this season—the most 200-plus totals surrendered by any team in a single campaign.

The batting onslaught was led by Shubman Gill, who struck a brilliant 84 off 44 balls despite briefly struggling with discomfort in his left foot. Gill and Sai Sudharsan put on 118 runs for the opening wicket, entirely dominating the Rajasthan attack on a flat Jaipur surface.
Sudharsan continued his strong season with a fluent 55, while Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia finished with explosive hitting to propel Gujarat Titans to their highest total of IPL 2026.
Rajasthan’s bowling shortcomings were again exposed, especially in the Powerplay. Jofra Archer endured a rare off day, leaking 46 runs in three overs. Ravindra Jadeja briefly stemmed the flow through the middle overs, but the Royals failed to contain the relentless Gujarat batting charge.
In defense, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan stole the show with impressive figures of 4/33, while Jason Holder (3/12) and Kagiso Rabada (2/33) also rose to the occasion. Gujarat Titans restricted Rajasthan to 152 in 16.3 overs, securing a comfortable 77-run victory.
The worrying trend continues for Rajasthan Royals, who, despite boasting some of the tournament’s best bowling numbers earlier in the season, have now repeatedly faltered in high-scoring contests.
