Choi Jeong (39), the all-time home run leader in the KBO League, has set a historic milestone by recording double-digit home runs for the 21st consecutive season—the first player ever to do so.

The SSG Landers slugger hit his 10th home run of the 2026 season during an away game against the KT Wiz at Suwon KT Wiz Park on May 12. With the score tied 0-0 in the top of the first inning and two outs, Choi connected with a 131 km/h sweeper thrown by KT starter Matt Sauer, sending a solo shot over the left-field wall. It was the 528th home run of his career.

Since joining the SK Wyverns (SSG’s predecessor) in 2005, Choi has hit at least 12 homers every season starting from his sophomore year in 2006. Last year, he also became the first in KBO history to hit 20 or more home runs for 10 consecutive seasons (2016–2025).

A dominant power hitter for the league, Choi has claimed the home run title three times—with 40 in 2016, 46 in 2017, and 35 in 2021. In May of this year, he became the first player to reach 500 career home runs in the KBO. The second all-time in home runs is former Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yuop, with 467.
